
ALOO BADAY
INGREDIENTS:
FOR BALLS
500 gm potatoes
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon dried pomegranate seeds,optional
salt to taste
2 green chilies, finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh coriander,chopped
FOR BATTER
1/2 cup gram flour
salt to taste
pinch of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 tablespoon oil
water as required
METHOD:
For the batter,mix batter ingredients and enough water for the thin consistency batter.
Boil and unskin potatoes.Mash well.
Mix ball ingredients in a bowl.
Shape into small balls about 1 inch in a diameter.
Dip in a batter and deep fry in a hot oil until golden brown.
Serve immediately with ketchup or tamarind sauce.
